TVs with 100Hz technology

A TV with 100hz will be ideal for sports fans and action movie buffs. The smooth processing power of the TV allows for fast-paced action to be presented in a blur-free manner.

A standard TV broadcast is composed of 25 frames (pictures) per second. Each frame is split into two 'fields' for transmission. Each of these 'fields' contains a half of the lines (the odd number of lines in one, even numbers in the other). These fields are transmitted at twice the frame rate... thus 50Hz!

Your TV then cleverly creates the full picture by scanning the odd numbered lines, followed by the even.

An 100Hz TV will do all this.. but twice over and in the same time. This helps reduce blurring and visible flicking as you're effectively seeing 50 frames per second instead of the 25.

Freeview and Freeview HD

All our TVs have integrated Freeview or Freeview HD tuners. Freeview is the easiest way to enjoy digital TV for free. You can get up to 50 TV channels through your aerial with no subscription and no contract. A TV with Freeview HD will allow you to also enjoy an extra 4 HD channels including BBC One HD, BBC HD, Channel 4 HD and ITV 1 HD.

HD will bring you up to 5 times the details of standard definition with stunning picture quality, clarity and sharpness. The increased depth and realism will really bring your programmes to life.

Finlux 3D TVs

3D TVs offer viewers a new way in which to enjoy their cinematic experience. 3D content adds depth of field to the action - making pictures come to life before your very eyes. There are two types of 3D availbale - Passive and Active. Our TVs contain Passive 3D.

Passive 3D technology

Passive (polarized) 3D technology delivers a flicker-free tri-dimensional viewing experience, as well as allowing for cheaper, lighter and more comfortable 3D glasses. As a result the technology is perfect for watching 3D films with the kids or having your mates round to watch 3D sporting action.

Passive 3D glasses create the illusion of 3D images by restricting the light that reaches each eye. The glasses which also contain a pair of polarizing filters. As each filter passes only that light which is similarly polarized. Each eye sees only its separately polarized image, producing a three-dimensional effect.

Key benefits of Passive 3D

Unlike Active 3D glasses, passive glasses require no batteries - so you won't have to worry about recharging your glasses.

Passive 3D glasses are lightweight at just almost half the weight of conventional 3D glasses - making them easier to enjoy 3D TV with.

Passive 3D provides greater viewing angles compared to active 3D as unless you are sitting within a few degrees of centre and with almost zero horizontal (head) tilt, the contrast, brightness and image quality plummets with active 3D glasses.

2D to 3D Upscaling

If your 3D TV features 2D-3D upscaling then your TV will transform normal 2D programming into the third dimension – allowing you to enjoy all your favourite channels with greater depth and enjoyment. However, the 3D effect won't be as great as a 3D blu-ray movie from a blu-ray player.

2D & 3D Picture Quality

A common perception of 3D TVs is that if you don't have access to 3D content then you'd be better off getting a non 3D model. This simply isn't the case. 3D TVs offer the greatest picture quality in both 3D and 2D, so it's better to make your TV future proof by buying a 3D TV now then regretting not having the future when 3D becomes common place within the nation’s living rooms.

To connect your Smart TV you can use the bundled USB Wi-Fi dongle in your TV box and connect to your home Wi-Fi connection. Alternatively you can plug in an Ethernet cable into the back of your TV from your home network, so you’ll either need a cable long enough to stretch from your network point or look into buying a Homeplug that’ll carry your internet connection through your power supply.

The Finlux Smart Remote App

It's arrived - the Smart App from Finlux that'll transform your viewing experience and make your Smart TV all the more enjoyable.

If you've got an Apple iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad then you can download the Finlux Smart Remote App now for free. As long as your mobile device and your TV are connected to your wireless router then you'll be able to pair the TV to your mobile device immediately when you launch the App.

It'll then allow you to select up, down, left & right as well as select the different coloured button options. Swipe to the left and you'll be presented with a keypad for typing in the desired channel number or swipe to the right and you'll be able to increase or decrease the volume and flick up and down the channels.

By selecting the motions tab at the bottom of the screen your mobile device suddenly becomes like a magic wand, TV. flick your mobile device up and your tv will impressively respond with moving options upwards, flick to the side and your TV will move to the side.

The keyboard tab allows for comfortable typing without having to use your remote to work its way around a Qwerty keyboard. This easy-typing method makes social media and searching for content a breeze.

Connecting your Smart TV to your Broadband

All our Smart TVs offer a USB Wireless Dongle as standard in the box. Connecting to the internet is very straight forward. Simply plug your Dongle into your TVs USB slot and select your home broadband Wi-Fi from the list.

If you're using an Ethernet cable then you can just slot it into the TVs Ethernet port.
